Cat responds to Li Lianhua's failed laugh and fond admonishment with a wheeze of his own, probably a failed chuckle on his part, too. Dusty, he's not sure -- the prickle and stick of cobwebs is dull compared to the smell of mud and iron or the burning of broken bone. Dirty is a forgone conclusion. He's probably right. Cat would see fit to complain about it, if it was worth doing even a little.
His ears tremble at the knock and his eyes search like he might see through the slats making it up, but it's just as useless as before. A little shift to raise himself partway interrupts his words with a feline hiss, so he returns to his miserable huddle with a tight, closing squeeze of his eyes. The noise that follows could be either a dissuading hum or simply a groan of pain.
"It's not still bad out there? I'd think it smarter to stay inside..." But it is true that no plant-riddled creatures had disrupted his limp from one house to another, and no rabbits, raccoons, or mice had come looking for his blood underneath. Beyond that, Cat's been too out of it to notice much. Was it over? "M'used to being a loner. Just -- been a while before here, s'all."
Did this count...? Blue was there for him, helping him since he'd first arrived, and Li Lianhua was always good fun. That whole household, really. Inigo, too, and then there was that silly girl cat. But he didn't have her for five long months, so he'd been alone, right? It doesn't feel the same as the idea of Li Lianhua leaving him here now.
"Do what you want. As if -- y-you wouldn't anyway, heh."
